Bean Museum and BYU Museum Of Arts

Last Tuesday, my sisters and I (and one brother-in-law) took our kids (and one extra niece) to the Bean Museum and an exhibit at the Museum of Arts on the maker of "I Spy" books. Both were really fun. Here are a bunch of pictures from the day.

Baby Drama, Guessing Game and Any Advice To Get This Kid Out In Two Weeks!!!

Many of you already know that I am super stressed because my doctor is going out of town for the last two weeks before I'm due and I'm not too happy about his on-call doctors. I asked him to induce me before he goes, but because of hospital policy (blah, blah, blah) he can't induce until 39 weeks, which is NO help to me. Well, today was my 36 week appointment and I went in hoping that when he checked me I would be somewhere around 2-3 cms and 80% effaced. No such luck! I was barely a one and he wouldn't even give me a percentage number. Great! How am I going to have this kid before he leaves with those kind of numbers. This is where the advice comes in, PLEASE!!! Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.

I also thought it would be fun to do a little guessing game for this kid. Height, weight, gender, delivery day, and time of delivery are the five categories. Just to give you a little background, I am due May 25th. Tade came 10 days early at 4pm(ish), weighed 7-6, and was 20 inches long. Ashlynn came eight days early at 2pm(ish), weighed 7-10, and was also 20 inches long. I have NO clue if this is a boy or a girl. I go back and forth all the time. My original thought was girl only because Eric's sister did the pencil lead arm test thing and has been right so far and girl is what is predicted next. But I also checked the Chinese calendar (which was correct for Tade and Ash too) and that predicted boy. So your guess is as good as mine. My prediction is as follows: 20 inches, 7-4, girl, May 14th, 3:17pm. GOOD LUCK!!!

P.S. If you want to throw any names suggestions out there I would appreciate that too. It's hard to think of names when you don't know what's coming!

When Is It Going To Be Summer?

Tade keeps asking me that question and I keep telling him that it won't be summer until the baby comes, but today was pretty close! It was somewhere in the 70's and we loved it. Eric got home from work and decided that it was time to cut the grass and make sure the sprinklers were working. I had just gotten back from getting Tade from a friends house when the first set of sprinklers turned on. Tade looked eager to run through the water and I thought WHY NOT? So I told him to have fun. Ashlynn saw how much fun he was having and wanted to join him. She started off toward the center of the lawn and was enjoying the "mist" when all of a sudden the water actually hit her. You'd think she was dying from how loud she started screaming and crying. It was hilarious! Eric and I couldn't stop laughing. She was just frozen in the middle of the lawn afraid to move and get hit again. Eventually, Eric coaxed her out, but I think that will be her last sprinkler experience for awhile. I got some pictures, but not of how sad she really was. Oh well! P.S. Did anybody elses mom make them lie on the cement to get dry before they could come in the house? It seems like we always had to share one towel.

Easter Weekend

We had a wonderful Easter weekend spent with family and friends. On Saturday, we went to the annual "coloring of the eggs" at Grandma Gappmayer's and then the annual Oldham Family Easter Egg Hunt (which had to be held in a church because of the rain). The kids had lots of fun at both! Sunday was just a nice, relaxing day with no meetings or appointments. Church was wonderful! I love my Savior and am grateful for the sacrifice He made for me and for His resurrection. I hope you all had an awesome Easter too!

Sharing A Room

We decided to put the kids in the same room a few weeks ago and it has been going pretty well. Actually, the first week went so well that we decided to take away the toddler bed, put Ash on the bottom bunk, Tade on the top bunk, and to top it off I took Ashlynn's binki away. The second week wasn't so good, but now the binki's back and with a new star chart to bribe them things are looking up. Hopefully, they will be fully trained by the time the baby comes!

This is how I found them one night last week after a particularly hard night. They kept playing and turning on the light. Tade told me Ash was scared to be in bed by herself. I said that I didn't care and to stay in their own beds, but when I came to check them this is what I found and it was pretty cute! What a good brother!!!

Book of Mormon Challenge and Elder Holland

I realized that I never wrapped up my post about the Book of Mormon Challenge I started in February. It ended a little over a week ago and I can't express how grateful I am to have done it. I can already see in the short time that I haven't been reading as diligently the difference it makes in my life to stay close to my Savior through scripture study. I have a greater love for the Book of Mormon and all that Joseph Smith had to do to translate it. I also have a greater appreciation for my Savior. Thanks again Jodi for issuing the challenge. I already need to do it again!

Also this weekend was Stake Conference and Elder Holland came to visit. I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't exactly what I got. Although, I know even more now that Elder Holland is a prophet. He was so intense and passionate in his talks to us. He was also very funny and relaxed. Not exactly what you see in General Conference. I can't really quote the things he talked about, but I do know this church is true and I need to work a lot harder and I know my Savior will always be there to help me. It was a great Conference and now I am super stoked for General Conference!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I don't know why I got so into it this year, but I actually woke up early enough to make some green pancakes and green milk. The kids loved it! The also got to eat with green forks and drink out of green cups so they are thinking I am pretty cool right now. We hope you have a fun day too!!!
