General Conference Traditions

Thanks to a great idea from our home teacher a couple of General Conferences ago, we started this tradition to keep the kids quite and hopefully help them listen to the speakers. Each session we pick 3-4 words that get assigned a treat bowl. When one of the speakers says one of these words, the kids get to pick a treat from the respective bowl. It works pretty well and the kids LOVE it.

Another tradition we have is the "musical run". Anytime there is a musical number the kids get up and do as many laps around the island and dining room table as they can. They also earn treats for this and it is a great way to burn some energy.

I tried to get a decent picture of us all watching Conference together. It took a few tries and some threats of no more treats, but finally I got a decent enough one! Loved the Spirit I felt this weekend as I was reminded of Gospel truths and heard testimonies from Prophets. Thankful to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Tade's President Monson drawing. I had to beg him to do it. I am glad I got this much from him! :)

The Many Faces Of Carter

Eric was trying to get a picture of Carter for our Seven Peaks passes that his mom had given us for Christmas. These are not even all of the tries and Eric even deleted some before I could see them. I was laughing so hard when I saw these. Hope you get a laugh too!

Yard Sale

In either May or June we are planning on having a yard sale to raise money for Easton's wheelchair, a wheelchair van, and all other Easton related medical expenses that come up (therapies, hearing aides, etc.). If you have ANYTHING you would be willing to donate for us to sell please contact me and we can figure out a way to pick it up. Thanks so much for your love and support!

Monday Shirt and Carter's Tongue

For the last couple of weeks Tade has come up every Monday morning and said, "I got my Monday shirt." It took me about three weeks, but I have finally realized that every Monday he is wearing the same shirt. His "BIG TIME" shirt. When I asked him this week why he was doing it...He just said because it is his Monday shirt. Okay, good enough for me. Now I guess I just have to make sure it is clean for Mondays. What a funny kid! I guess if he is cool with his Monday shirt then I am too.

Can you touch your nose with your tongue? I can't, but Carter can. Guess he got it from my dad, who is also proficient in this area.

Eastie Boy Is Two!

Sitting up like a big boy at the store! I guess he knew that if he wanted the ice cream we were buying for his birthday he would have to prove that he could eat it. Happy birthday to you Easton. (For more pictures go to Easton's blog.)

Ashlynn's V-Day Card

Ashlynn made this adorable Valentine's day card for me and Eric. Mostly I just love how she drew Easton horizontal instead of vertical. Hahaha. That how he rolls (literally)!

Sledding Adventure

Eric texted me one Wednesday a week or so ago and asked if we should try and take the kids sledding when he got home from work that day. I was all excited at first and thought it was a great idea. Then I started remembering all the news reports on sledding/snowboarding/skiing accidents and started having some reservations about it. Eric had his sister call me and talk me into it though. She had a nice little hill by her house which wasn't too steep and had very few trees or other obstacles to run into. Eric got home early and we bundled up the kids and headed out. Let me tell you that it was SO MUCH FUN!!! We probably hadn't been sledding for 2-3 years and I wondered why we don't go more often. I thought Easton would love it because he is kind of a daredevil, but he HATED it! Carter on the other hand LOVED it. He would get on the tube, ask for a push from dad, and stick his hands in the air, giggling and laughing the whole way down. Ash and Tade had a great time too. So glad we went on this fun winter adventure.

These are before pictures. I didn't take any during or after.
